Our statement of faith below is intended to encourage unity with all true Christian churches. While we may differ on minor doctrines, we share a common bond: one body and one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all (Ephesians 4: 4-6).

Holy Scripture

  • We believe the Holy Scriptures, contained in the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, and our only standard to direct us in how we may glorify and enjoy Him. (Matthew 5:17-20; Luke 24:27,44; 2 Timothy 3:16; Ephesians 2:20; Hebrews 1:1-4; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

God in Trinity

  •  We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in substance, equal in power and glory, Who created heaven and earth, and all things out of nothing, and created man and woman in His image. (Genesis 1 and 2; Matthew 28:18-20; John 1; 1 John 5:7)

Sin

  • We believe that the first man and woman rebelled against God, lost communion with Him, and were placed under His wrath and curse with all their children because of their sin. (Genesis 3; Romans 5; Ephesians 2)

Jesus, our Redeemer

  • We believe that our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, is truly God and truly man. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His glorious ascension to the right hand of the Father, His power and authority over everything in heaven and on earth, and His personal return in glory. (The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John; Acts 1; 1 Peter 1)

Redemption

  • We believe that eternal life is a gift from God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and applied to believers by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling presence in the Christian works faith and repentance, enabling a life of godliness. We believe that true righteousness comes through faith. (John 3:1-21; Paul’s letter to the Romans; 2 Corinthians 5:17-19; Galatians 2:19-21; Ephesians 2; Philippians 3:7-11)

The Church

  • We believe the Church is the body of Christ, the assembly of believers in Him down through the generations and gathered in local congregations for the purpose of proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus our Messiah, the forgiveness of sins through His blood, the hope of the resurrection from the dead, and the promise of eternal life. We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers in our Lord Jesus Christ throughout all of history. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2 – 4; Ephesians 2 and 4; 1 Corinthians 12 and 15; Hebrews 11 and 12)

Marriage

  • We believe that marriage is designed and governed by God as a covenantal bond between one man and one woman for life, except when dissolved based only on Scriptural principles. Marriage is a human likeness of the mystical union of Christ with His Bride, the Church. (Genesis 1:27-28; Matthew 19:4-9; Ephesians 5:25-33; 1 Corinthians 7:10-16)

Sanctity of Life

  • We believe that human life begins at conception and should be protected and treated with dignity at all stages of life because it is created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26 ; Psalm 139:13-16)

Resurrection

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked; the former will be resurrected to eternal life in the new heaven and earth, and the latter will be resurrected to eternal damnation. (Acts 24:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15, Revelation 20-22)
