* God’s People Gather Together Isaiah 53:2-5
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed. AMEN

Congregation: He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.
Leader: He poured out His soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors.
Congregation: Yet He bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for sinners.
* Congregational Response Hymn 247 Tune
Be near when I am dying, O show Thy cross to me;
And for my succor flying, Come, Lord, to set me free:
These eyes, new faith receiving, from Jesus shall not move;
For he who dies believing, dies safely through Thy love. AMEN
